over the past few years i've been compiling all the music i make during the months of winter--a great big inhalation when things tend to feel introspective and productively, even enjoyably, lonely. it's always the season in which i make the music mostly for myself, so letting go of it it in this way can feel purposeless. today the snow is falling in Portland at an unbelievable rate. school is cancelled. i am home alone. so i've decided to go through all of this music and give it a shape.

the instruments i remember using most are my cherished viol-uke and the Horace Waters melodeon that was my great grandmother's....
